SCANNET is a network of
Terrestrial Field bases, Research Stations Managers and user groups that are collaborating to improve comparative observations and access to information on Environmental Change in the North.

SCANNET field sites: Abisko Scientific Research Station

The Abisko Research station is located at the shore of Lake Torneträsk in Northern Sweden (68º 21' N, 18º 49' E) approximately 200 km north of the Arctic Circle.; Arctic Station

The Arctic Station is located on the south coast of the Disko Island in central west Greenland (69°15'N, 53°34'W). It faces the Disko Bay / Davis Strait and is characterized by an arctic, marine climate.; Center for Ecology and Hydrology/ECN site, Cairngorm

The site is a west facing granite catchment in the Cairngorms Mountains (57º 07' N, 3º 49' W), rising from about 350 m through the tree line at 700 m to the highest summit at 1100 m.; Khibiny educational and scientific station

Khibiny station is the round-the-year field station for scientists and students, set in the heart of Khibiny Mountains, Kola Peninsula (NW Russian Arctic, 67º38'14"N, 33º43'31"E); Finse

Oulanka Research Station is situated in the Oulanka river valley within the Oulanka National Park (66°22'N, 29°19'E); Samoylov
The Russian-German Research Station Samoylov is located on Samoylov Island in the Lena River Delta, Northeast Siberia (72º 22’N, 126º28’E), approximately 120 km south of the Arctic Ocean.; Sermilik; Sornfelli, Arctic Climate Station

The Sornfelli Meteorological Station is located in the middle of the 40000 m2 Sornfelli Mountain top plateau at 725 m asl, which is central in the Faroe Islands, on an island called Streymoy. The distance to the capital Torshavn is only about 12 km.; Spasskaya Pad; Svanhovd; Tarfala

The Barrow Environmental Observatory (BEO) is located at the northern most location on the Alaskan Arctic Coastal Plain near the City of Barrow (71.2963° N, -156.5891° W); Kluane Lake Reseach Station

The Kluane Lake Research Station (KLRS) is located in the Yukon Territory, at the southern tip of Kluane Lake, approximately 250 km from Whitehorse.; Vindelfjällen

Vindelfjällen Research Station is located in the village of Ammarnäs in the north-western corner of Västerbotten County in Northern Sweden (65o57´ N, 16o13´ E); Zackenberg Station

Zackenberg Station is located on the north side of the Young Sund - Tyrolerfjord fiord complex in Northeast Greenland (74º30' N, 21º00' W).
