Administration The station is run by a permanent staff of seven people.
Main facility Biological field station (founded in 1964) in mountain birch forest (alt. 475 m). Open the whole year round. Accommodation capacity 35 persons, besides the permanent staff. Meals are served daily at the station. Laboratories have supply of electricity, gas, compressed air and running water, and are equipped with refrigerator, ovens, spectrophotometer, micro- and macroscales, microscopes, centrifuges, pH- and conductivity meters, thermometers, etc. Telephone, fax, copy machines and computers with access to email and internet are provided. Bicycles, cars, snowscoters, boats, etc. are available. Small library contains zoological, botanical and geographical handbooks.
Major Field Sites lie in nearby (0-2 000 m) mountain birch forests and alpine heaths
